INTRODUCTION
The pages in
this section (see list on left) show some of the more popular pupil workshops and staff training sessions that
I conduct.

However, I am aware that a one-size-fits-all
approach is unlikely to cater for the specific requirements of any
particular school or organisation. Hence, I will be pleased to discuss
your particular training needs so that a programme of personalised learning
can be tailored to suit your target audience. These can be teachers,
classroom assistants, parents, primary or secondary pupils, or a mix of all of these.

PUPIL WORKSHOPS
The
interactive nature of most of my training sessions means that group size
is best limited to a single class. Nevertheless, this still leaves the
possibility of working with two or more classes through the course of a
single day, especially where the training involved is very specific.
However, occasionally it may be beneficial to work with larger groups and I
am more than willing to discuss your ideas with you. Please note that
all sessions should be supervised by an appropriate number of school staff.

STAFF TRAINING
Over the years I have discovered that teachers are not interested in dry,
academic theories - nor in new initiatives foisted on them by remote
experts. What they do appreciate are practical, tried and
trusted, down to earth ideas they can put into practice in their own
classrooms.

Consequently, although my training sessions do include some
theoretical underpinning, the over-arching emphasis is on the practical and
the useable. Much of what I demonstrate may be innovative, but it
invariably strikes a chord with both new and experienced teachers.

I am happy to deliver full-day, half-day or twilight training sessions, as
appropriate.

Precise costs
vary depending on the nature of the training requested and the number of participants
involved,
but are certainly not prohibitive.

Typically,
costs range from:
Smaller
primary schools may wish to arrange joint staff training events with other
local or partnership schools. This can be a very cost-effective way of
training staff. Such events can be particularly productive because
they allow for cross-fertilisation of ideas between schools.

Alternatively,
if you wish to organise an open-invitation training-event in your area, I
would be pleased to discuss details.

GENERAL
Based
primarily in the North East of England, I also travel to other UK
destinations. Travel expenses are charged separately.
